MS has, occasionally, had Virtual PC images of SBS 2003, but all of those have expired now. They were a great way to have an "instant" SBS Server.

Good luck with your tire kicking. If you have any general questions, I'm sure that folks here will help.

There are two recommended SBS books nowadays. One is a good "starter" book, and is the one I normally point to for someone who actually wants to learn how to INSTALL SBS 2003.
Harry Brelsford's SBS 2003 Best Practices.
Don't bother with Belsford's "Advanced" book. It is a compendium of specialized articles. Useful, but not for first-timers, no matter how computer-literate.

A second book is one that I own, and is highly recommended by acquaintances, but I simply haven't had the time to read my copy yet. The author is a very knowledgeable guy, and is also a MAC/Windows Server co-existance expert.
Eriq Neale's SBS 2003 Unleashed.
