Without AF the textures start to get blurry (stretched) even a few from where you are standing, and get progressively worse as you look farther out. And anything off angle from where you are facing will get blurry too.

I find AF especially important for gaming, especially online MP games like Delta Force-BHD or Joint Opts. If you see a green bush 30 yards out with a brown splotch on it -- is it just a green bush with a splotch???? ? or, is it a green bush with an opponent lying down under it? Without AF you likely won?t be able to tell the difference because it will be so blurry. If a sniper is lying on a hillside 150 yards out, without AF he?ll blend into the hill and you?ll probably never spot him.

Also for right now today its a nosense argument. But a very valid point.

I'm having trouble putting together the valid points and useless argument parts together. But i think i understand what you mean. Still, yes, eye candy CAN help you in the game, i agree, sometimes not. I've been able to play CS:S on lowest settings, and highest, and as long as the framerate was good, it didn't hurt my "skills."

But i do agree it is a rather pointless argument, but hey, i just said that i didn't see a point for AA/AF and other people didn't like that i guess.

Blastman: Yes, I completely understand what AF is, but i've never seen a need to use it. For the example you mentioned, I find that rather strange. I've played many games that don't need AF to tell if its an enemy or not. CS:S, BF2, Battlegrounds, etc. Never once has AF or AA given me an edge in gaming...
