SM bus controller: What is it? Can't find driver...

Just loaded Windows XP home vers. Each time I restart, it says it finds new hardware (SM Bus Controller). I can't find the file for it on the xp disc or sound card/video card drivers. What is it and where do I find the driver. Do I need this? Thanks,

What type of motherboard do you have? Intel? AMD?

For Intel, the driver can be found here:
INF: Intel 82801BA ICH2 3.20.1008

For a AMD based motherboard you need to identify the chipset used.
