Sluggish Performance Running Macros in Excel

I'm running a marco in excel that runs through a bunch of other documents. It runs rather quicly on my laptop (2 minutes or so) but takes much longer on my desktop (30-40 minutes). I upgraded to Office 2003 to make it the same as my laptop but that still didn't do anything. I am running Windows XP and have a Dual Core AMD processor. I'm starting to think it is a hardware problem. Any advice would be helpful.

I also did an upgrade for office, not a clean install. Everything else slows down too but the processor shows to only be using 50%.
 
Nevermind, I had Office XP still lurking on my machine and uninstalled that. Thanks for the help, cheers!
