Makes me wish I hadn't already bought the Lenovo I mentioned above!

Nice specs but I would personally not buy anything with a 1366 x 768 resolution, at least 1080p for me. Acer also has a jumpy touch pad. Otherwise OK deal.

Talk about jumpy touchpad.....that HP one I was talking about in the beginning thread is terrible....terrible...

You can adjust various sensitivity options in the touchpad driver (and Windows) advanced properties or features. Enable or disable features that often aren't too refined such as palm detection.

I played with the setting on my HP quite a bit including turning off the palm detection but I never could make it quit acting squirrely.

Could have been a driver glitch thing, too. Did you look for or try a newer driver for the touchpad hardware? Many OEMs are not too great at releasing updated drivers, or they offer newer drivers for current models but don't post them for older models that have the same hardware and are potentially affected.

Making sure I had the latest driver software was the first thing I did before I went and played some with the settings.....the touchpad might be defective I'm thinking.

It's a shame AMD ever produced those chips. Few will be willing to ever buy another AMD after experiencing that. 363 passmark single thread is simply abysmal.

I am going get some heat for calling Windows 8.1 superior. Hahahaha...

w8.1 retains stronger stability with sleep state recovery much better than past versions of windows, where the system files and the registries previously usually broke down quicker across multiple manufacturer builds. just to state one major improvement over older versions of windows, generalized.

the crazy thing though about win8.1, after a fresh OS install and connected to the internet, hardware drivers are automatically loaded from server databases almost without any kind of user input of inquiring updates at all - and in fact, software engine UI's for hardware support are also loaded into the OS automatically; extremely convenient for ease of saving time and solves mysteries of driver searching. but you know the rest, some people hate that.
