slowest work day ever

Well, today our main database is down for a planned outage. There is literally nothing to do. The skeleton crew that is here is just kind of aimlessly wandering around chatting, or messing around on the internet.

Damn. I took a sick day on Wednesday too... should have waited until today.

Do most Americans have the day off, or do they have to book it off? ie. is it a stat holiday?

thankfully I have the forums... but damn... I could do this from home.

Most Americans have the day off, but I don't. I am pretty much in the same position as you, but I did something drastic....

I installed zMud.

aw damn, that reminds me... i should have remembered to burn that Deftones CD i was going to check out.

I'd love to toss you some of the work I've got to get done today. Today ... my day off :| Was at the office from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. yesterday, and still don't have everything resolved. Oh well, if it isn't done by 1 p.m. today, too bad so sad. I figure I'm really earning my trip to Vegas next week 😉

i don't even know why they bother....they know half the country is not goin to show up for work...might as well just close...

No day off for me.
Judging by the available parking this morning, I'd guess that about 1/4 of the people in this building have taken vacation days though ...

the expressway was dead coming in today.

around here, when Detroit shuts down... most of the people also take the day off.
