Slow speed and conflicting info ????

Hi,

I got a new contract for internet a 50Mb speed, but internet felt slow so I open the task manger of W8 and it says that I am downloading at 20-25Mb/s but generally on steam I only get 2-2,5Mb/s, on torrents I get the same and general download it is alway more or less that.

Funny thing on the Linux system monitor it says more or less the same than the apps, but it on linux is generally a little better (up to 3-3,5Mb/s).

I did some speed tests and I got mixed results from 5 to 28 Mb/s.

Anyone knows what is happening or how I can get more speed????

Thanks in advance.

Who is your ISP?
Dsl service is sold UP TO the speed, so you may not be able to get that based on the type of DSL and how far they have to run it over copper wires in the end.

www.speedtest.net what does it say when you use a place that is CLOSE to where yo live, as the father the distance you go the more hops you hit the slower your speed gets from just normal everyday operations consider them traffic lights, on the road the more you hit the slower you go from point a to point b.
