I just reinstalled windows xp and installed a whole bunch of things on it. Just now i tried my outlook express 6 and it takes about a min to a min and a half for it to completely to load. After that it runs at the normal speed. I have a AMD 1800+, 256MB RAM, TNT 2, Win xp Pro. Is there anyway I could uninstall it and reinstall outlook or any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Did you remove Windows Messenger?

If so, you must do this:

Find the key

{FB7199AB-79BF-11D2-8D94-0000F875C541}

Change the InProcServer32 and LocalServer32 default key to an empty string.

You can also do what I did: Re-install MSN Messenger, then rename the folder with Messenger in it. Messenger will never load again, but you will also not get the slowdown. Sure it takes up a few megs, but for most people that's not a problem, and it's a better alternative than hacking the registry if you're unreasonably leery of messing with regedit as I am.
