Slow Network connection

Hi
Í've connected two computers. One with winXP and the other with WinME. Both network cards are equal.
The XP one connects to the internet through a cable modem. I shared the connection and everything works fine.
I shared folders. But when i try to copy big files from one computer to another, the connection becomes too slow, and then fails. Is it the cables ? Some missconfiguration ? I only use tcp/ip for the connection.

Any Ideas ???

Just for kicks and giggles, try running netBeui. You might want to delete any *.tmp's. Just remember, networks are funny things.
