On my lan, i am using tcpip for net access and ipx/spx for my filesharing (since my cablemodem doesnt pass ipx). My speeds when transfering files between computers is slow (700KB/s) for the 100mbit connection. I cant use tcpip for filesharing because the dynamic IPs of each machine are on different class C's (that means they cant talk to each other directly, they need a gateway, which would bottleneck the speed of my lan to the speed of my cablemodem). Any ideas on how to speed things up?

Use NetBEUI on your local lan instead of IPX (read: delete IPX and install NetBEUI). IPX has a lot of overhead you do not need!!!

I went ahead and replaced IPX with netbeui and saw no real increase in speed. it still seems to operate very slow. I am using a 100mbit switch so i dont understand why my speeds are so slow....
