Slow Internet

i recently moved to south florida and from what i saw comcast was the local i-net/cable provider but the apartments told me they use DirecPath. i've been on there inet (cable)for a month and i've ran various speed tests from diff sites and at diff times and came up with an average dl of 77.3 kB/s high of 123kB/s an average up of 37kB/s high 42kB/s. the upload isn't that big of a deal but i've had cable before and was about an average of 500kB/s and sometimes at night when service would be more in use i've seen my upload well over my download.

Has anyone ever heard of this company and no anything about them?
the other option is DSL through att and i was wondering how there service is in comparison with speed and price?
