Hi everyone,

I put together a new system today - Asus A8N-E, AMD 3200+ Venice, Seasonic S12, Corsair XMS 2x512, etc. Internet didn't work when WinXP finished intalling, so I installed the NF4 drivers from the Asus CD and everything was pretty much fine. I started doing a bunch of Windows Updates and after a few reboots, I went to NVidia's site and downloaded the newest NF4 drivers. After that, my internet connection has pretty much sucked.

I tested a few download files and the new PC is getting 20-40kb/sec, whiile the computer on the other side of the house is getting the normal 600kb/sec via roadrunner.

Did I mess up by installing the new NVidia drivers? Did something else perhaps happen? Internet is so slow, I can't even get the Windows Update page to work right.

Thanks!
Aaron

you have to install the drivers for the ethernet/lan controller. these drivers can be found on the mobo cd, or the asus website.

Yep, ethernet drivers are in the NF4 package.

Well, I guess I found out the problem. My system doesn't like the newest NVidia NF4 drivers. The one from the MB CD are fine, but when I try to install the newer ones, the ethernet comes to a halt. I guess I'll just stay with the older drivers. Wierd......
