iam trying to transfer file form one HD to another and its takes about 10min to transfer 1gig, both HD are ata100.
ive tried everything, same ide for both drive, diff ide.
 
10 mins is little long. Considering most hdd are rated at least 15-25 mb per sec, it should only take 67 seconds or just a little over a minute to transfer this file. and 15 mb/sec is actually conservative. Check to make sure you have DMA enabled and at the same time ensure you have the right disk controller installed on your system. You also might want to check about defragging the hdd's.
 
like the guys said sounds much like a DMA problem.
if you're using avia chipset based board, did you install the 4 in 1 driver pack?
