Slow Hard Drive Performance

I got a second hard drive for my Dell, the Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Plus 200gig. I hooked it up as the slave to the original hard drive. I put it on the same cable so I don't think the cable is the reason is so much slower than the other hard drive. Anyone have a possible cause for slow performance?

In doing things like copying from slave to master or vice-versa it will always be slower compared to if they were on seperate ide channels, such as both being master. Can you put each HD as master, one for each channel?

Check out it's DMA settings using sandra or something like that.
