Basically, everything is tweaked, oced, tried. Refresh rate fix tried, agp aperture sizes 32, 64, 128 tried, sound card issues tried, all mobo bios vga settings tried, det drivers 21.83, 22.80, 23.11 tried, Nvmax tweaked, fsaa off, vsync off, anisoptric off. Hek i tried the latest 4 in 1s, ide miniport drivers, & agp drivers. Problems - giants low 40 fps average, drops as low as 25 usually @ 1280x1024x32bpp, Ut - low fps ctf November 16 bot gets 21 min fps, 86 max fps, 57 avg fps @ 1280x1024x32bpp. RTCW and MOHAA run fairly ok.

I'm all out of ideas, this is not wut i expect from a gf3ti20 at 230/540 on a fairly fast athlon 1.3ghz. PLz help.
 
Thats true, especially if that SB Live is sharing the same IRQ as your vid card. If you have the sound card in the first pci slot it usually is connected with the vid card in some way and can take away your resources from what I heard.

Giants is a pig. It doesn't run fast on any PC. That score sounds about right.

That doesn't sound all that bad either. Could you run UTbench and post your score? Sounds like vsync is on. If you stare at a black wall does the FR go over 85?

Dont know what MOHAA is. RTCW is a pretty stressful game. If it plays well, you are doing ok.
 
Took out the sb live! already instead of disabling or uninstalling it. It is on the 3rd pci i think. Really, giants is that bad, over at tomshardware round up, all ti500s got 60 average n my card is clocked at 230/540. Where can i get ut bench n wut does it do? Just tried sacrifice played 1280x1024x32bpp maxed everything, really slow as well, not niceably betta at all than my gf2 gts 32 mb ddr. MOHAA is medal of honor allied assualt and it runs on a q3a engine. It neva goes aboe 85 fps in ut with 23.11 drivers cause i hear vsync is always on in d3d. tried 22.80 and 21.83 with vsync off, fps jumped up to 150 staring at a wall, but fighting and running with bots and when some high detail is in the map is the same low fps.🙁
 
What CPU was used @ Toms? 1.3 200FSB Athlon is no longer "state of the art". UTBench is a benchmarking demo. When benching UT, be sure minimun desired framerate = 0. Do you have Q3A? What do you get for a benchmark in it?
 
I know this probably isn't a feasable solution for you, but running DDR Ram at 333MHz (166MHz fsb) gives a good boost to all games.
