slow forums?

Does the response time of the forum seem slow to anyone else? I noticed last night from home but wait to check the speed from work. Both location seem to be running slow to me.

Last night they were horrible for me. Pages took around 30 seconds each to load. Better this morning. Using IE6 with Sprint DSL.

edit: I take back the better part. Just took 32 seconds to enter a thread in FI, 22 seconds to go back one page to get out of the thread and 14 seconds to reenter this thread. Sigh.
 
Yes. I thought it was my connection at first, but every other site loads up nice and quick.
Don't know if it's AT's server hardware or just FuseTalk or whatever. But yes, sometimes the site stalls and just hangs a blank screen. I usually have to close my browser and try a few times to load the site.

It's definitley annoying, isn't it. I've already quit checking the forum as often and it seems I come here less and less because of the slow reponse.
 
wonder what the admins problems are? hopefully they can get them resolved soon and get the forums back to running like we are used too.
 
Painfully slow. I actually just came in here to start a thread regarding this.

Must be that Crossfire ad that pops up in the 8800GTX review 🙂
 
yea its slow..

I was staring at the Status bar as the pages were loading and for some reason noticed it relaying to dynamic.anandtech.com instead of forums.anandtech.com

maybe they are upgrading or something, or maybe I'm just oblivious to which server it actually uses because I don't always pay attention to it.
 
The other day I had 6 count them 6.....of the same posts because the forums wouldn`t post for me.....so i just assumed it was my computer.....

dynamic.anandtech.com is the ad server. I'm on dialup so i've been blocking it for awhile to speed things up for me.
Since the last week or so when people have been noticing the slow forum responce some one mention try blocking dynamic.anandtech.com but a few replied it didn't help. YMMV

ah, ok, well thanks for the heads up.. i dunno i'll keep it unblocked for now.. support anandtech by clickin the ads every now and then
 
yes, very "stcky" - it hangs then pops in quickly, which suggests the ad server, and indeed the "dynamic" one. Perhaps CERTAIN ads from dynamic are the prob, not all
 
Good Lord!!! The slowness is not due to ads as keeps being suggested, it is the database itse;f that stores the threads. I've had dynamic and all that ad crap blocked in FF adblock for over a year now and I still get major slow downs with opening threads and 10 second delays until they all open as described before. It is due to as Not my Fault said some reorganization they keep saying they are doing or fixing, and yet it still continues to be slow.

But for the record FFS it is not the ad server people!

Let's just hope they can fix it with the limited amount of people they have. We are greatful. 🙂
