Slow encoding, help!

Hey I have been trying to take some of my DVD collection and convert it to reasonable size (2 80min CD's) using smart ripper then flask. I understand how to do the process, but I always seem to have two or more audio files and flask asks me to chose which to use. Also, at 1300 bitrate, should it take my 1GHZ athlon 14 hours to convert into DivX (newest version)? Should I use an older Divx codec? My system specs are below.
