Slow DVD+R Burn Speed in Nero?

Just got my Verbatim 16X DVD+R discs in the mail. I tried to burn a disc in Nero (v6.3) and the maximum burn rate is showing as 2.4X only. My burner (Lite-on 811S) max burn speed on DVD+Rs is 8X. I have the latest firmware. DVD Identifier shows the disc info as 16X burn capable. Anyone know what's up?
 
All I know is my 811S is burning crap out of my quality FujiFilm/TY DVD+R 8x. I should've tested the burn quality. I'm gonna throw all my god damn Lite-On opticals out and use the NEC 3520A.
