Bullshit! I have never seen or heard about it actually being done. I have never seen anyone in court over it.

You are incorrect. Most interstates have POSTED signs of 40mph minimum. You can and will get arrested for going slower than that.

Have you really never noticed that? 😱

However, laws concerining going too slow are absolutely NOT limited to freeways:

In addition to the legally defined maximum speed, minimum speed limits may be applicable. Occasionally there are default minimum speed limits for certain types of roads, generally freeways.

Comparable to the common basic speed rule, most jurisdictions also have laws prohibiting speeds so low they are dangerous or impede the normal and reasonable flow of traffic.

There used to be an old man in Mt. Prospect, IL who had a VW rabbit hatchback. The entire rear window was covered by a cardboard sign that said, "PLEASE DON'T TAILGATE", and that guy never exceeded 10MPH. Cops never pulled him over, even though he could't see out the back of the car, and slowed everyone honking behind him down. People did all sorts of nutty things to get out from behind him too. He was definitely a fucking menace, and the cops knew all about him and did nothing.

In Texas, the left lane on highways are for passing only. They have signs that also state this. You can get a ticket for not obeying this. Rare yes, but it does happen.

I observe minimum limits if they're posted. The only state I know of with posted limits is Utah. The other states I regularly drive through(Oregon, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico) have no posted minimums.

I was pulled over once for going "too slow". Ironically, I didn't have my Insight back then. The cop just told me to speed it up a bit and let me go. I was like.. Wow, that's a first.. can I get that in writing? lol

i was behind a lady today going 40 on the freeway(limit 65)..... very light traffic.....she's having trouble keeping the car in the lane too. I make a move to pass and she's on her cellphone looking down through her purse. I give her a good 10 second honk and she doesn't even look up from her purse..... amazing

One of the best things I've ever seen.
I have this problem every single day, drives me absolutely INSANE.
If you want to drive like a slow douche, do it in the SLOW LANE.

Before I realized this took place in NJ I thought to myself "Hmmm, nothing too special this happens with some frequency in NJ." I've never seen someone not move over with a cop on their ass though.
