Slow driver gets owned by a cop

Bullshit! I have never seen or heard about it actually being done. I have never seen anyone in court over it.

There used to be an old man in Mt. Prospect, IL who had a VW rabbit hatchback. The entire rear window was covered by a cardboard sign that said, "PLEASE DON'T TAILGATE", and that guy never exceeded 10MPH. Cops never pulled him over, even though he could't see out the back of the car, and slowed everyone honking behind him down. People did all sorts of nutty things to get out from behind him too. He was definitely a fucking menace, and the cops knew all about him and did nothing.

I wish cops would ticket people more for tailgating. Going down the DNT the other day I was tailgated by an idiot lady on her cell phone. I was in the passing lane going about 80mph (I drive 75 in the 70mph stretch, but speed up to pass efficiently). While I was passing a few slower cars in the middle lane, this crazy bitch in her Corolla came *inches* from my rear bumper and stayed there until I was able to get over into the center lane again. And then when I got over, she didn't even speed up, so it's not like I was holding her up or anything. Shortly after that, she tailgated the shit out of the next person she was behind, then took a lane change narrowly missing a van by mere inches.

I never seem to see cops pulling people over for that 🙁

This exact scenario actually happened to me a few weeks back.

I was driving in the fast lane and all of a sudden im approaching a car going probably 45 mph in the fast lane so im tailing the shit out of him getting pissed off - I couldn't switch lanes quick enough people were whizzing by - (it's a 65 MPH zone) and after maybe a minute I look in my rearview and it's an unmarked police car and im thinking ohhh shit he's gonna pull me over for tailgating....sure enough he flashes his lights but immediately goes into the shoulder lane overtakes me, gets in front of me and pulls over the slow driver! It was a breath of fresh air to say the least.

It'll probably never happen again in my life...but it was a fantastic feeling.
 
happens here in Houston all the time..
going too slow is just as unsafe as going too fast.

and since when DONT cops tailgate before they light you up?
It's standard procedure to close to almost on your bumper before they hit the lights..

Cops usually get right up on your ass before they pull you over. Judging by how fast the hazard lights went on, the slow driver could tell that was going to happen.

Also he failed to use his turn signals while changing lanes.

Get used his "get out of my way" signal instead - the red and blue lights on the top of his car. Do you really think it's necessary to signal a lane change when pulling a car over? Everyone in all directions is expected to make way for an emergency vehicle with lights flashing.


I'm going to assume the driver of the car that was shooting the video was from Pennsylvania. He sounded borderline mentally handicapped.

In NH, they actually have minimum speed limits as well s maximum on soem highways.
 
Another pet peeve is drivers who feel like they need to make a swing left before taking a right, and vice versa.

But he didn't pull him over. He switched his lights off and then went back across a bunch of lanes without using a signal.
 
Tailgators are a$$holes as much as people who don't move over after completing a passing maneuver. I think I'm glad I didn't become a traffic officer or I'd be pulling people over all day to write them up.

As for the person commentating on the video, he should get a ticket for the commentry, the bad footage and operating his car without due care and attention by recording the whole thing whilst driving. However it doesn't look like the NJ troopers are too hot on tickets and would rather just dick drivers around.

II. Whenever the commissioner of transportation determines on the basis of engineering and traffic investigation that slow speeds on any part of a way consistently impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, said commissioner may determine and declare a minimum prima facie speed limit.
