Hoping someone can give me some advice on whether to buy another modem.
I have a winmodem set up with the new drivers and have change the settings many times as described on many different web pages to give better performance so I don't think this is a issue with the settings.
Winmodem (56k) downloads files between 1.5 and 2.7 constantly.
Have an old laptop with a pcmia card (28.8) that downloads between 2.4 and 3.6 constantly using the same phoneline.
Would a new hardware based modem improve the speed of the downloads based on this info?
