Hi,

I recently upgraded from an Asus A7V to a MSI K7T Trubo, reinstalled win2k, and now my USB speakers stutter a lot - especially when the hard drive is accessed, and my Power DVD stutters to when playing movies. The only difference in setup besides the mobo is that I put the DVD-ROM and CDRW on the same IDE channel. The HD has it's own IDE channel. Any ideas what could cause this slow performance?

Also, how do I make sure I am running in UltraATA 100 4 my hd in win2k?

For system specs see below.

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my MSIKT7Pro2-A. The 1st thing I did was to get a SoundBlaster X-Gamer Live sound card and Disabled the onboard sound chip. Thats when my Creative DVD player started stuttering. After working with Creative Tech support and Downloading the newest Via 4in1 Drivers. It turns out that there was an IRQ conflict. So I pulled my sound card and reinstalled it to a new slot and the Via 4in1 assigned both my Sound card and DVD player on the same IRQ and presto changeO Problem solved.:D
BTW I also have USB speakers
Hope this helps.
