Hi all,

Newbiw here so be gentle...

My machine is very slow after XP starts up. After logging in the machine takes about 30 seconds to respond to double-clicks on my computer. Seems as though the machine is still starting up and hasn't read the disk yet?

I also have problems with my mouse and keyboard hanging. The machine still seems to be working as the disk light occasionally blinks and pressing the power button takes me to the standby screen so it still seems to be working but I've got no way of making any input!

Any Ideas?

The machine is an Asus A7V333 with latest BIOS and PS/2 keyboard and mouse.

check your startup folder in the start menu for programs that begin with windows that take up res. Also check the RUN and RUN ONCE entries in the registry for additional programs. Also, of course, always run spyware and virus checks.

If it's still happening, check back in
