Slotket for ASUS P3V4X

I am using the MSI slotket and it works perfect. There have been a few threads over which was the best slotket and the MSI won so I bought it. It's great.

I think he is asking if the asus slotket will work best because he has an asus board. I think that kind of thinking is totally narrow. Any slotket will work the way it is supposed to on any board. I think the best slotket is the MSI. Anyone think I am wrong?

The question is - what is the best slocket for my motherboard? I assumed that the ASUS slocket would be preferable as ASUS is the manufacturer of the board. Is this flawed logic? However, I am not sure and that is why I am asking. Thanks for your replies.

actually, some cheaper motherboards with some less quality slockets may introduce some compatibility issues, especialy the earlier generation of slockets. But most good mobo's and slocket's today are happy topgether.

I've used 2 ABIT Slocket 3's in 2 P3V4X's, both worked fine (Coppermine 650 @ 949, 975 seems to be limited by the P3V4X's chips). I can't say all ABIT Slocket 3's will work fine though.

These fit very nicely in the P3V4X's slot and clips.

I'm gonna let ya'll in on something. I have extensively tested Iwill, Abit !!! and MSI. Keep in mind, I pretest and sell overclocked cpus, so have had plenty of all of them in my shop. The MSI has run chips that the others would not overclock at all, some of those cpus would not even post on them. 🙂
Don't screw around, just get an MSI. 😉

Earlier this year ASUS identified a problem with their brand of slocket and stated that they would come out with a revision. The problem seemed to cause illegal operations and spontaneous boots. I went with the Iwill Slocket II and it is well worth the extra money.
