slot a ---> socket a ?

I have an athalon running on a slot a asusK7M motherboard.. but id like to buy a faster cpu that is for socket a... i dont really want to buy a new motherboard, would it be wise to buy some sort of converter for slot a to socket a?

there are no "slocket" devices for the athlons. if you want a socket t-bird you need a new mobo
