Anyone know where I can find 2 Slot 1 PIII 800's or higher? I was told they are hard to find these days. I have a SuperMicro P6DBS dual board and when I asked their techs if it supported slockets they said no...then too, they might have guessed.

you'll need a good sloket like the asus s370-DL which will allow smp. this will allow you to use a couple of flipchips for your pc! :)

forgot to mention that you should get identical stepping cpus but not cA2 stepping ones which can't do smp!
btw welcome to the forums! :)

Reconsider.
1) Unless you already own one CPU, you'll have to spend somewhere between $250+ (pair of P3/850) and $400+ (pair of P3/1000).
2) Your board supports only 100MHz bus which eliminates chance of running much faster, Coppermine based CPUs.

If you run miltithreaded applications and can benefit from dual setup think about getting dual Tuallatin or just single AMD for less money will give you much more umph.

CuMine CPU's are available in the 100Mhz FSB flavour.

I did the P3 850 Mhz upgrade on my Dell last year, then realized it was stupid, sold the Cpu and the Dell on Ebay and built an AMD system instead. P3 is outdated, exhausted technology selling at a premium price. AMD is a wiser choice.

Btw, I paid $176 for the p3 and sold it for $174, so it was basically a rental.

I have 2 dual machines, one of them has 2 PII 400s and the other has a PIII 500 that I borrowed and need to give back (it's in my wife's comp). I got the 2nd board for free otherwise i would have gone a different route. I want to buy 2 800s for my system and give her the 400s. I found some 750s on pricewatch for $98 so I might go with those.
