Are there any good slot 1 I815e motherboards out yet? I have a P-III 667 slot 1 133mhz chip stuck into my Abit BE6, but since I have 1 stick of pc100 memory that will not make it over 117mhz, I am stuck running it at ~575. I was considering just buying another stick of ram that is PC133 compliant, and then overclocking my AGP bus on the V3 3500TV I have (it should be able to handle it). Anyway, I am having trouble finding a motherboard that will fit my needs. I would really like to stick with an Intel based board, since they have traditionally been the best performers. With ram prices being almost as much for 128 as a new motherboard, I am trying to decide if I should go ahead and upgrade to new tech. Anybody got any ideas?

There are no Slot 1 i815E boards that currently exist. Intel is pushing for everyone to use the Socket 370 format, so it is doubtful there will be a Slot 1 i815E board......certainly none for the near future.

Well, I sure hope that one comes out. I would hate to have to use a Via based motherboard just because intel doesn't want to make any more slot 1's. Anyway, I did see an i820 motherboard from Asus that would probably fit the bill, but it was $145. I think it was the P3C 2000

I use to hate VIA board too, but I have to admit, the new VIA 694 socket 370 from Abit blew my mind, its faster than MSI 815E !!!
Unfortunately their slot 1 version still sucks.
In fact I am working in computer industry and I have tried many VIA board from Soyo, Abit, Gigabyte, MSI but the only VIA board I could recommend is Abit VH6 the rest is still slower than 815.
Intel 820??? Are you sure???

Yep, the Asus i820 board is ok, and it uses normal Sdram, but it does have a built in sound card. I would rather not have anything built in, since I already have high end components. (SB Live, V3500 TV, Good nic)

Yup....the i820 based ASUS P3C-2000 has been discontinued due to MTH problems.....it was also recalled as well.

ASUS no longer supports the P3C-2000....no new BIOS releases, no problem support.
