Sloket for AMD ???

Is there a card that can accept an AMD Thunderbird socket A chip and go in to a slot A board? I'm not too familiar with AMD stuff.

There are none available that I've heard of, and if they're not available by now, it's doubtful they ever will be.

I remember they had pics of one that were on all the tech sites, but they said it will come out "later" and it never did. but oh well, if u want ddr support in the future u'll have to get a new board anyways

I had read someplace that it would be more or less impossible to convert socket a to slot a because of the number of pins on a socket a chip comparred to the number of contacts on a slot a; something along the lines that they really couldn't put enough contacts on the slocket due to the numbef of pins on the socket a chipset.
