SLK800+7Volt modded 92mm Vantec Tornado=SEX

Full load on a 2100+ oc'ed to 2100mhz= 42c on a hot day, noise level is completely bareable. This combo is awesome.

i have a 80mm tornado with xp2100+ @ 2200mhz and with 7V ish (thermaltake controller, lowest setting...around 7v i think...maybe..) its very quiet

and temps are like 37-38C on load

Ouch :Q, just reading that makes my Chicking Rod quiver.

Wow those are good temps, your even overvolting. I've never been able to get those super low temps on an OC, but when it's cold temps drop dramatically. I'd imagine I'd get those temps if it was cool out, but Cali has been heating up lately which means summer is near . Maybe my case is the culprit? (Antec1030 style case). What kind of case and mobo do you have?

its at default votalge, but asus a7n8x dlx over volts it to 1.7v lolbut its set to 1.65v in bios

fan is at low setting, which i assume is 7v or so

damn, it's bareable? I had a tornado on 5 volts and I couldn't standing anymore. of course the tradeoff is my 2100 running at 54.

It's noisy compared to a quiet computer, but there's no high pitch noise, just the deeper air movement noise which I've never had a problem with.

It's pretty sweet, here's how you do it:

1.) Grab any fan that has a normal molex connector
2.) Remove the red power cable from the female side of the fans molex connector (I use simple tweezers to do this)
3.) Remove the black 2 cord cable (the one next to yellow 2 cord cable) from the female side as well and slide it in the spot where the red cable was originally sitting.

Your 12v fan is now running at 7volts, about half the speed it normally dose . It's great if you want to quiet your computer down, and the airflow is decent as well.

Sadly I couldn't get my t-bred over 2100mhz without jacking the voltage over 1.7v, at 1.6v my computer is already a space heater . I dont think the extra 100 or so mhz would do me much good anyway.

One thing to note is that I got into windows at 2400mhz and 1.7v, I'll have to see what kind of voltage it needs for that speed, it's awful tempting .

BTW... Just so you know... a molex connector contains a +12v, +5v, and 2 grounds. No 7v wires there.

Your fan's running on 5volts.

BTW, what RPM is it running at? Just curious. isn't 12v RPM like 5700 or something?

the voltage differential accros a +12V and a +5V line is +7V. so if done right you have a 7V fan
