Dear gurus.

I happen to order slk 947u and panaflo 80mm. Are these fit into each other well or should I buy 92mm fan?
Thanks.

well it will fit, but if you want performence get a better fan like 92mm (panaflo, vantec tornado etc..)

80mm are fine. i have not heard any improvements in performance with 92mm fans. i actually seen better results with 80mm vantec tornadoes than the 92mm tornadoes.

I was looking in to this same heatsink with the Panaflo Axial 92mm fan from new egg for my next build which will be an XP3200+. I guess what i want to know is this the best fan for good cooling with low noise. I am NOT going to be overclocking. Is there a better one that produces even less noise? Thanx

it's only 19 cubic feet per minute (cfm), that's pretty low.
an XP3200+, not OCed... it'll work, but it might get warm for your purposes.
I'd suggest getting a higher cfm fan, and a speed regulator (rheostat) so that you can crank it up for cooling when you're gaming, and turn it down lower for noise when you're doing interweb/email.
that's what I'm doin leastways. ;)

I have a 92 panaflo "m" from svc and it really is pretty quiet. Not quietpc standards but quiet and no annoying high pitch.

I also have an 80 "H" from svc and it isn't that much worse.

The highs push some air; I just got another from directron (why spend ALL my money at svc?) because I was very happy with the temp drops over a 60 mm ytech adjustable on high I had.

Just one more question.

The panaflo fan comes with bare two pins. But the cpu fan has 3 connectors. How should I connect them?
I think I used all combinations 2^3 = 8 so far. But still didn't make it work.
Thanks.

Connect the yellow to a 2-pin connector and plug it into your motherboard cpu sensor and bang, you've got what you want. Least it worked for me (I didn't solder it though the husband did)

How to connect the bare wires to a Molex connector? Have the fins (for locking the Molex to the mobo) facing up and away from you. The black cable should go to the right hand (outer) connector, and the red one should go to the middle.

This info came from LokiX's link (directron.com) above....

Same thing I'm about to do. I just bought the heat sink from NewEgg but forgot about the fan. I just ordered the Panaflo 92mm from Digikey. FBA09A12L1BX is a 92mm Low Noise (27dBA) (Low RPM-2100) fan with a tac output (rpm).
It moves 42.7 cfm of air. It was $8.75.
