i've heard that people that were having random freeze problems when using the sblive! on the iwill kk266 got rid of the problem my disabling dma on their cd-roms. has this worked for anyone? also, would turning off dma majorly effect my cdrom performance? thanks.. the onboard audio is ok.. but i want my EAX for counter-strike!

Yes, disabling the DMA would affect your cdrom performance. There have been several little tricks on getting around this. I chose to arrainge my cards so the motherboard bios and windows assigned the IRQ's the same. The only tweek I had to do was assign IRQ5 as legacy ISA(to keep DOS support for my SBLive).
