Did it work for you and what were your steps. was following paul thurots guide but his example only mentions nero 6 which looks quite a bit different from the ui pics on 5.5

I used some special program I found using google, created an image file which then could be burned onto a cd using nero or any other image burning software

yes you must mean iso buster I already have that .

Just nero express 5.5 is not as many bells and whistles as the full package Nero ver 6 so was wondering about some peeps personal experience with it.

Quick n00b question: What exactly does "slipstreaming" mean in general terms?

Patches your windows XP installation CD with Service Packs.

nLite

Can slipstream Hotfixes and service packs. Creates a bootable image.

Oh you can also enable unattended support. Meaning you can add all your info, included product key, user names etc. So in the next reinstall, all you have to do is set it to instal and it takes care of the rest.

no, a special program for slipstreaming windows

well after looking at various websites I decided the best way to use nero express for this job was to create an image first and then burn it as a bootable disk.
To do this I used a small piece of freeware called autostreamer.
autostreamer integrates your original xp cd with your desired sp and then creates the iso for you which nero express can handle.
