I took a large chunk of skin off my heel .
Best way to heal/still tolerate having my foot in my boot ?

Guh.

I'd recommend going to the hospital and making sure it's taken care of. You don't want to neosporin and wrap that thing and call it good. Make sure it doesn't get infected/go green on you.
 
gnarly? seems like such a small wound to me, keep it clean dry when possible some gauze changes. of course you can youtube some wound care, i have tegaderm patches id use
