My only issue with Slingbox is they're still quite pricey for what they are. $200 for the base model is the same amount I'd pay for a new satellite receiver.

it only supports the newer model.. so they screwed all the old customers..

doesn't matter to me, my slingbox works on the device i already own.. desktop and ipad/iphone. I dont need it in chromecast

sling is good for streaming outside the house.. like while you are away on vacation, etc.

Unless it changed, each box can stream to 1 device at a time.. not multiple

I'm thinking seriously about getting a Slingbox

I have Dish Network, but I don't want to pay an extra monthly fee for a 2nd receiver. The wife & I will 97% of the time want to watch the same programming. Less than 2 years ago I bought a piece of crap BriteView wireless HDMI transmitters, which was great during the small handful of months that it actually worked. So now I need a new solution, and Slinging content to my Chromecast seems to be the best option...

...but I'm open to suggestion. Are there other recommendations?

I love my slingbox but I will never, EEEEEVER, purchase one again. They are just the greediest company and have been since way before Dish Net bought them.

I want to get away from Dish and satellite in general. I live back in the woods, and don't get a clear line of sight to the horizon any time of year other than winter.
