Slimline CDrom drive for Flex-ATX ?

Ive found a real cute little flex-atx case about the size of my thinkpad laptop. Trouble is it needs a "Slimline" CDrom drive.
All the ones i see listed as internal "Slimline" drives are PCMCIA.
Does anyone do a slimline CD drive thats IDE?

Help be much appreciated,

rockhard =)

I think you want a Laptop CD\DVD\RW whatever with a ATAPI connector and a convertor cable to go from ATAPI to full size IDE and power

I have never seen this mystical cable but it's rumored to come with some flex/bookpc cases

thanx Gunbuster 🙂

I'll wait till my case arrives and see if theres one in the box.
Hmmm? I wonder if plextor do a version of their 12x10x32 burnproof for laptops? That would be great 🙂

MOST replacement drives for laptops are slimline drives in some fancy module or plastic or just has a fancy bezel. For example, all dell dvd/cd/cdrw laptop modules house drives with identical standard slimline dimensions.

Plextor is releasing a slimline 8x8x??x w/ burnproof.

I didn't start the rumor, I'm just spreadin' it. 😉

thanx rlism

The thought of trying to get the case off one of those external slim drives sure gives me a bone 😉
Dunno if i'd have the balls to try that.
I'll keep my eyes peeled.
