I might sound like a shill here, but it doesn't matter to me. Ever since I've been drinking one SlimFast per breakfast (in place of waffles or cereal), I've had tons more energy and a much better metabolism. If you feel tired during the day I highly recommend it. 10 grams of protein per bottle. I only have it for breakfast. The rest of my diet for the day is normal.

I make homemade shakes for breakfast. Banana + 1/3 cup oats + 1/3cup protein + 2tbs natural peanut butter + 1tbs honey + 1.5 cups 2% milk.

Around 40g protein, and a thousand calories. Try that for energy :)

A thousand calories? lol

Well this only has 180 and it makes me feel great, so I think I'll stick with this. Sounds pretty good though. The main advantage is that it's practically a multivitamin with all these nutrients. It's very hard for me to find a suitable diet that incorporates iron, potassium, and enough protein in it. Instead I just forget even thinking about it and drink this, and I'm good for the rest of the day.

I don't understand what the oats are for, besides being nasty. And those 2tbs of peanut butter are almost devoid of nutrition-- it's just fat. Same with honey. It's just sugar.

Oats are a good source of carbs and have fiber. PB is a healthy source of fats if you buy the natural kind (i.e. no sugar).

I agree with you that the honey has no nutritional value. I usually make my shakes out of milk, protein powder, oats, and natural PB. Sometimes I will add a banana or olive oil.

An Elite Member making such an open statement about a controversial product provides the appearance of trolling.

It is well known that Slimfast has been surrounded in controversy for its abundant inclusion of refined sugars or aspartame.

Slim Fast Propaganda

I suggest a piece of bread with a butter or yogurt-cheese spread with a tablespoon of honey on top. The bread is better if it is not the standard processed white bread. bignateyk's suggestion is also very good.
