The prices on the "Slim" DLP type televisions is just so much cheaper vs. screen real estate that I can't help but check them out when I'm in the store. The picture seems just as good, if not better in some cases, and I noticed this to be especially true in the newer 61" Samsung LED DLP sets.
So, can anyone think of a reason other than set thickness to go with the LCD? I will never mount the set to the wall as I prefer to have a nice stand/cabinet to hold all of the other necessary home theater components (receiver/dvd/tivo/etc.).
