So I got wasted and dropped the thing right on it's lens onto a tiled floor. I'm fairly gutted, though I bought it back in 2005, have taken it around the world, underwater, skiing, and taken ~3000 pics with it.

So what to replace it with? the equivalent model (Z850) or even the 10megapixel version (Z1050), or do you chaps know of a camera that's a little better? It's got to be small enough to be able to stuffed comfortably in a pocket, but come out with decent pics.

cheers.

you can check the photography site in my sig for samples, but I'm in love with our Canon S2 IS. It's not exactly small, but the 12x zoom more than makes up for it. There's a newer version called the S5 IS that you'll want to look at.

The T100 looks nice also, but I just my T9 late last year and the wife would kill me if I 'upgraded' now...I <3 my T9...

Seconded.
I've seen samples from several brands, and sony easily beats them all.
Zeiss *T coatings = contrasty, vibrant, flare free images.
It really makes a huge difference.
