Slim 80mm fan recommendations

I had to remove an 80mm blue LED case fan from my Raidmax Aztec case because my heatsink, the Thermalright TRUE, was too big and would cause the side panel to bulge if they were in together. Is there an 80mm slim design fan (preferably blue LED to match the other fans the case came with) that I could replace it with?

Also, what direction should a side panel fan face (the original was screwed into the vent slits but I don't recall which direction) - inwards to bring in cool air, or outwards to blow out hot air? I would assume inwards to cool the components but I want to make sure.

Considering how much air a reasonably quiet 80mm fan moves, I can't see that a thin one would make any diff. over just leaving the vent fanless, but if you have to have one it should be an intake.

Thanks. I found some 80x80x15 fans at Newegg, although none with LEDs. Anyone know of 10mm fans, and/or 15mm fans with LEDs?

For fans, check SVC.com, jab-tech.com, petrastechshop.com, thermalfx.com, sidewindercomputers.com, buyextras.com. Generally you'll find that specialty size fans won't come in LED, sorry.

Thank again. I didn't find much at the other sites but I found this Hiper 80x15 blue LED fan at SVC, looks to be just what I was looking for:

Although I can't find it in stock anywhere.

What about thermal compounds - which ones are considered the best? I'll be using it with a Thermalright TRUE on a Q9550 or Q9650 if that matters.

Too bad SVC doesn't have any - search on the part no. you want with Froogle and maybe you can find a reseller with stock.

You'll do your case airflow and temps a favor by covering that vent. Use the clear plastic packaging many items are sold in, use clear silicone to glue it in. What air does come in that vent will go right out the back fan having cooled nothing and reducing the amount of air the rear fan will pull from other hot spots.

I also normally recommend to block off all extraneous venting as it is generally less effective than tuning your front and rear fans properly. But there is a place called downsouthshop.com who claims to have the Hiper fan you want. This reseller has no listing on resellerratings so I'd do some research before buying anything major - for just a fan, I'd take a chance.

I actually did check Froogle myself, but the only place that had it was in the UK, and the shipping for that would probably be many times the fan. Thanks a lot for the downsouthshop.com find, it wasn't on Froogle when I checked :)

Anyone have thermal compounds recommendations?
