Suggestions?

I apparently was volunteered to create a video slideshow (thanks wife!)
I'm assuming there are a billion options out there, and I'm sure that Windows even has one too.

Doesn't have to be anything special. Just add in the pictures. grab a few mp3s to play. Automatic transitions and junk.

Anyone have any suggestions for free software to do it?

Thanks in advance.

Are you wanting something like a PowerPoint presentation? Libre Office has Impress which works like PowerPoint.

No. I want music and junk in it. I'm pretty sure MS Movie Maker or whatever is packaged/downloadable with Windows has something. Not sure if its any good though

Picasa does that. Picture slideshow from the folder you select and you can enable mp3s (select this in options) in the same manner.

edit: i don't know if it makes a cd, but it plays on the comp Picasa is installed on. My version is 3.9.0 Under folder: find view slideshow // Under tools: find options/ slideshow/ browse mp3 folder // also after you double click on any library picture, you will see "play" appear above the picture. That will start a slideshow.

Does it? awesome. I use Picasa to organize all our pictures. I just never ever looked at any slideshow or crap like that.

Just use Windows Movie Maker. There's like no learning curve, you're not going to be bombarded with options, and it just works.

Sure, there's fancier software. Do you really need it?

Yes picasa is great app. i also agree.

I used Picasa for all my photo organization and simple manipulation. The problem with their slideshow option is it only allows 1 song.

I used Windows MM - -fast, easy and just enough options to wow the viewers.
