Slide Scanner Help

Hey ladies and gents, I have a whole bunch of old family slides, you know, the ones you put in a projector. They are about 50 years old. I want to scan these into digital images. Has anyone here had experience with this? I need to know a good quality scanner that I can buy that will scan these slides?

I have done dozens of old Kodak slides - Kodachrome and Ektachrome. I have used a stand alone SCSI scanner (Olympus) and now I use an Epson Perfection 2450 Photo scanner. The slide scanning templates fit into the scanner's lid. It works very well. Microtech also makes a very decent one.

I'll try to post a sample for you. OK - this is a slide picture of me taken 51 years ago!

I have the Konica Minolta Scan dual III and it works very well. the next model up has more advanced blemish removal algorithms which would be nice with some slides I have that are more than 30 years old. The resolution is excellent. The printed images can look very good.

I strongly recommend this scanner.
