8800GTS512>8800GT>9600GT

Newegg has a great price on a MSI 9600GT $154.99 after MIR. Pretty cheap for something that competes with and/or beats 8800GTX Ultra/HD3870X2

9800GTX around the corner. I'm not to good at forecasting price changes, maybe the "older" models will go down.

Yea thats what I am hoping on. I've heard that production 8800 GT has stopped by EVGA , basically giving hope for a price drop.

If that's true you won't see a price drop. The reason they would stop production is so they can sell out of their current stock before the 9-series replacement comes out without the need to lower the price. The real bummer would be for people who bought one planning on buying a second one later this year.

that's what they get for not listening when everyone told them again and again "SLI/XFire is not, never has been, and would never be (in the foreseeable future) an upgrade path".
Stick with one card, or buy two from the get go.

The two things that I don't like about sli are the price and the power consumption. When gaming my system passes 500w pull from my apc.
