SLI question

I plan on getting a new card or cards...not sure yet, however I was debating x2 8800GT's or x2 9800GT's....

My setup currently:

ThermalTake Swing Mid-tower
Asus M2N-32 SLI DLX
X2 6000+
x4 1GB G.Skill DDR2
x2 300GB SATA2
eVGA 7600GT KO
SoundBlaster X-Fi
DVDR
x2 120MM fans
OCz GameXtreme 600w

now...the only thing i'm adding is a new vid card(s). Would I even be able to run SLI 8800's on this configuration?? Could I run 9800's??

I also thought of the 4850/4870 but Heat would be an issue with my case I think. I just don't want to fry my system. ^_^

I have to believe 2 8800s/9800s are going to generate more heat than a single HD4000 card if that's one of your concerns.

Agreed but, based on the MOBO listed I assume he's talking about a single HD4*** GPU. Are you talking about a 4870 or a 4870 X2?

x2 8800GT/9800GT OR x1 HD4850/4870

Unless you are using a LARGE monitor and high resolutions, I'd personally go with a single 4870 unless you just really like the idea of multiple GPUs.
