SLI question

Is it worth going for SLI for the next wave of pc gaming? I really can't afford it now, but I see people now with even Quad graphics cards. Is it pure bragging rights or is there a literal advantage as far as being able to run any game? Thanks for any help.

mostly bragging rights. a single 8800GTX will handle anything you throw at it by itself. 2 is just overkill, unless you're doing some disgusting high resolution.

Thats what I figured. Im drooling for the chance to afford 8800 GTX SLI, but the reality of the matter is that one will be more than enough for a LONG while. I even think that the 2nd gen DX10 cards will be overkill for 6 months when they come out.

... so I guess that means that Ill have alot of time to save for the 3rd generation of DX10 for SLI..... muahahaha!
