Do I need two identical cards for an SLI setup? If I buy a Biostar 7950 gt today and then 4 months from now want to go SLI do I have to buy another identical biostar 7950 gt or can I get any 7950 gt card.

nope, as long its a 7950GT, it can be any brand. however, it will downclock to the clockspeeds of the lowerclocked card. say if the biostar is at 500/700 and the 2nd 7950GT is at 450/600...they will both be clocked at 450/600 (though you can overclock both though).

crossfire requires cards in the same series like 1600 or 1800, but you can have a 1600 and a 1650 although it recommends the cards be identical, however I believe with SLi they have to be identical as in terms of series not manufacturer
