SLI question

Can I use two ATI cards like the 1900XT for SLI on an nvidia board or does it have to be the XTX version and a Crossfire board?

This may seem like a dumb question but I couldnt find the answer anywhere.

To use crossfire you need a crossfire card and a non-crossfire card (like the 1900 CF and the 1900xt, doesn't have to be xtx because in crossfire it slows down the xtx to xt speeds anyway) and a crossfire capable board - nVidia SLI is totally different and won't work with it.

For all practical purposes no, you cant shove two ati cards into an SLI board and have them work. I read somwhere that people have made it work, dunno if thats true but itll be overly complicated and probably extremely buggy.
