I set up this new system and it is an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe with two 9800GTX video cards in SLI mode.

If the computer is in SLI mode, the monitor goes blank with an orange light upon startup right as it is about to load the desktop.

Switching the video connector from the left DVI port to the right solves this problem.

However, upon restarting and loading Windows again, it happens again. The same thing must be done in order to get a display. The DVI connector must now be switched from the right to the left and vice versa as each time the computer reboots.

Is there anything you guys can think of that is making this happen?

If I disable SLI, the problem does not persist.

I had a same problem like that but just on a dual DVI 3870. I found that by switching the input back and forth so often that I was actually making the problem happen. By switching the port and forth I was changing the defualt monitor setting in the CCC. Upon shutting down it would change it to the correct plus in that it was at when I started the computer. Basically leaving me one step behind with my changes. I would say, set it up, and then reset all settings in Forceware to defualts, and see if that makes a difference. Then give it a power cycle and see if it holds.
