Hey everyone, my SLI configuration only display images from the secondary video card when in Windows. It does not display the boot up screen or the bios. The boot up screen and bios can only be display in the primary card. So if I want to configure the bios have to swap dvvi adapter from the secondary card to the primary one.

That happened with on of my configs long ago; I can't remember what I did to solve it, sorry. So with 2nd card installed, no output from primary (bios/boot/windows), while 2nd card outputs only once in windows. Someone should be able to help, will prolly need hardware info.

I remember now it was a Dell monitor and DVI connection. Have you tried an HDMI cable to Primary card?

This started t happen because when I started using the pc to game on an HDTV and the only way to get the picture out was using hdmi from secondary card. Prior to that it was working on the primary card.

PSU issue? Sli bridge? Windows issue.
If not already done
Remove both cards then use one by one on primary pci-e slot if all works on pci-e1 then sli them and try again.
If you have a spare dvi cable try that first. I had a cable that was working when I used my card on pci-e2 but on pci-e1 had issues

Took out the video card and used it individually. Each one was able to output image on its own. Probably driver issue. Gonna do a clean driver install and if it fixes this.

If that doesn't work, consider listing hardware config, May trigger some ideas from the group. Curious about. Mobo and it's chipset. I had the exact issue prolly five years ago

I thought that that was the way it was meant to be -- I tried using the 2nd card in SLI as primary for shits and giggles and there is no video out until Windows is running.

I figured primary meant primary and secondary will be read as secondary until the OS is up.

Are there any options in the motherboards BIOS to select which display source to initiate first?
Make and model of your mobo please?

I'm using an Asrock z87m extreme4, I looked into that option in the BIOS but the only thing I see is using the integrated graphic as a display. Doesn't matter now. Doing a driver sweep solved the problem.

Disable the igpu if you aren't using it waste of resources and more conflicts on the system.
