Should I go SLI with 2 6600 GT's or am I better off just getting one 7900 GT?

Any advice or other options would be greatly appreciated.

7900gt would be the way to go.

That ATI XT1900XTX is a great card to and from reviews I have read it has superior image quality.

I agree
You could always SLI the 7900
or are you asking whether or not to buy SLI compatible components?

Yeah, a single 7900 GT would be faster than two 6600 GT's.

SLI should really only be used for two top-of-the-line cards. There are very few exceptions.

2 6600's are roughly the same as a 6800GT, 6800gt being faster in the real world, the 6600 SLI sometimes chalking up a higher 3d mark score.

7900gt obliterates the old 6800gt, so going for the 7900GT is a no brainer

7900GT will outperform the 6600GTs in SLi. Simply put, the two 6600GTs can barely beat a 6800Ultra. And we all know how much the 7900GT owns.

7900GT hands down. that card will blow away the 6600GT's in SLI. but 2 7900GTs...now that is a different story altogether.
