Broly I like what you are saying I guess I never heard anyone put it this way that really the IDEA here of SLI is for people wanting to go with the higher resolutions, big monitors. Personally I thought it didn't matter, that no matter what you played it with, would all look great.

I'm not sure on the SLIzone of Nvidia's site it talks about this.

PLEASE I'd like to see this pic too. ;)

So what would be a great 1900X1200 LCD without killing me?

Yup, that'd be perfect actually...
Well I mean fox, Put it this way> You have a 1600x1200 computeR (example) and you have one 7800 GTX.

THe GTX will look great even at low AA settings, but I mean as you go higher in AA and stuff, it's like an exponential progression, it's eventually get smaller and smaller of a difference:

Example :
2x AA from no AA will look very noticable
4x AA from 2x aa will be a little bit more noticable
6x AA from 2x AA will be barely recognizable, if at all... It all depends on the 2 things that we have jammed in our skulls. Our eyes.

Everyone has personal nitpicks, mine was not being able to play games with 2x+ AA on 2560x1600 with 1 card, so I added another.

Your machine should manhandle a 1900x1200 and a 2560x1200 because your cards outperform a single gtx by alot and they will make up the difference that my 1 card lacked.

I would have gotten a GT if you could SLI unsimilar cards, but you cant, so rather than selling my single gtx, I just decided to get another.. It's all personal preference.

Broly ok, so which are the LCDs to be looking at for 1900x1200. I mean sure there are a lot out there, but for gaming SLI that must tone it down a bit.

Now I just need to figure out which are the best LCDs at these resolutions and higher for gaming, without running into problems.

THANKS

LCD at that size will probably not be worth much for gaming. Ghosting, streaking will probably be noticable. Right now I do not think there are that many out there that will be reasonable for this purpose. Also I think the cost would be too much to justify for most.

Maybe you can swing it, and maybe there are some newer ones that have higher refresh rates etc.

Oh boy here we go again more conflicting stories. Look thanks cmdrdredd for input, but do you really know, or are you guessing at this? Do you have a SLI box running a large LCD on it?

We can all talk and speculate and wonder what will be, but the only real truth here is those that have done it and know it. Please I really need some help on this about some real answers on this, that amount to something and not speculation.

cmdrdredd PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, I REALLY appreciate your input, but for now all it is doing is just confusing the issue that I am trying to clarify.

Please, people that really know, I need some help here, I have been at this two months now and it's not easy, there are to many thoughts on this going on and I need some real facts.

THANKS

P.S. Thanks again cmdrdredd for trying to help.

I have a 30" I never get ghosting. THen again I have an apple branded LCD and they have NEVER EVER producted ghosting during raids, in FPS's etc..
My suggestion, Das, is to get the 23" Apple if you can land your hands on it. I've had a 20" and a 30" and both are TOP NOTCH FOr gaming. The lower end models will ghost though that's why I stick with apple.

You can get a dell for a cheaper price and i think they are good but check out the reviews... My vote goes to the 23" apple, haven't read mcuh on dell, and well, i don't like dell as is.

Broly, thanks, yes the Apple monitors do seem nice, but I'm using a PC not a Mac, isn't that like sacrilege?, LOL. I don't know man I'm a PC guy not sure how I can handle a Mac/Apple Monitor sitting here with my Nvidia SLI. ;)

Besides the 23" is what I'd want for the 1900x resolution but I can't afford that price.

THANKS

Heh, bud, I'm running SLI with my apple monitor.. it's not about brand loyalty, it's about quality, man.

But your choice, best of luck with that

Actually I thought it was a matter of computer pride, LOL. Now have you seen this Acer AL2416WD 24in:

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=239037

Now for a 24" and not a bad price to boot I have not seen this size in a lower response time which they have of 6ms.

Yeah I hear ya man I'm all for quality too, it just seems weird to me is all, hehe. ;)

Looking at rated timings for LCD screens is incredibly silly.

The same pannel that's advertised by the makers as an 8ms pannel gets sold as a 2ms pannel by one company in particular.

As to ghosting, it's all about if you can see it, some people are overly sensitive, others (including me) never have a problem. Only way to see if you'll notice it is to try using one of the monitors in question.

agreed Bobthelost. Response for lcd's is usually erroneous, hell mine are 16 f'inMS but mine haven't ghosted,

Thanks guys I think another great way to just see what people are actually using and hear their input on their own SLI systems with the LCD of their choice is just to have a ---------> SLI LCD MONITOR POST.

Be on the look out here it comes!

WoOt ;)

agree with broly on this one, you should name it HIGH RESOLUTION LCD MONITOR POST or you will get flamed....

Broly I read that the HP L2335 uses the same panels as the Apple 23 inch cinema. Have you used one of these? And having the same panel as the Apple 23 cinema, well would they be pretty much in the same league, quality?

THANKS

if the monitor pro's say it then follow it

I'm not about rebadging so if that's true then it's true

whoever told you it ,ask them to back it up, if they can't then too bad.

I don't take risks buying rebranded stuff

For sure, I'm only taken it as what was said as a possibility is all. Not that it's 100% true or anything. ;)
